Curo was an intern project at EyeCue Lab: an app for planning a project, from its to-do list to what it costs to make. The interns’ first screens were plain. Graham gave it a look and designed its pages, with the name in fat, rounded letters and each section edged like torn paper in green, terracotta and sky blue.
A project page holds the project’s name and dates, its tasks on a small board (to do, doing, done) and its costs: materials, labor and anything else, like gas and electric. At the bottom, an analysis turns those totals, an hourly rate, the number of units and a markup into a cost and a price per unit. The sample project is candlemaking, with soy wax, scents, wicks and vessels, next to bee keeping and starting a band. Dialogs add a task, hold its details and pick dates, and one version spreads the page across a wider display.
