WFG National Title, a title insurance company of Williston Financial Group, works with four kinds of clients: home buyers, realtors and lenders, title agents, and enterprise clients, each in their own state. Graham designed the user experience of a new website that serves each of them.

In the spring of 2018 he audited the company’s national, Arizona and California sites and their navigation, set out the menu for each user group, and reviewed competitors’ sites. He then tried eight navigation bars and four directions in wireframes before a fifth, in gold. Visitors choose their experience once, by client type and state, and the site remembers it. From then on the navigation shows only what matters to them, with their state in its labels, like Oregon Branches, so anyone in the wrong place can tell at a glance.

The final round, wireframes styled almost like finished designs, opens on the headline Because of You and the line “We are building a better real estate experience for home buyers and sellers,” with full-width dropdown menus, a menu for changing client type and location, a persistent subnav on interior pages, and a mobile version.
