A Family For Every Child is an adoption agency. At EyeCue Lab in the summer of 2020, Graham designed a portal for its adoption workers, to keep track of the families they work with and everything each family has to do, from the first intake form to a child’s placement.

Your Families shows each family as a card, with a photo, the parents’ names and how far along they are in their checklist, beside the worker’s tasks for the day: send an email about references, request a physical exam, write a post-placement report, coordinate a health department inspection, schedule a Zoom orientation. A family’s page opens on its home study checklist, nine steps from orientation and family training to interviews, income and health coverage, a home visit, health statements, background checks, an autobiographical statement and references. Each step lists the forms and visits it needs, the worker’s and the family’s, and shows what is approved, scheduled or still waiting. An alert at the top flags a form submitted 13 days ago, and a log on the right lists the family’s activity by date.

An earlier round put a family’s whole file on one dashboard: the checklist, approvals and who gave them, the worker’s tasks, documents, and the worker’s notes on the family. Another laid out the full checklist with every step open at once.
